Detox Salad Recipe (Weight Loss Friendly)

A light, cooling, and gut-friendly detox salad made with cucumber, carrot, and probiotic-rich yogurt. This salad supports digestion, reduces bloating, and fits perfectly into a weight-loss or clean-eating plan.

Ingredients (1 Serving)

  • Cucumber – 100 g (thinly sliced)
  • Carrot – 80 -100 g (grated)
  • Curd/Yogurt – 80 -100 g
(Use low-fat or Greek yogurt for higher protein)
  • Oil – ½ tsp
  • Jeera (Cumin Seeds) – ¼ tsp
  • Mustard Seeds – ⅛ tsp
  • Urad Dal – ¼ tsp (optional, for crunch)
  • Dry Red Chilli – ½ (broken)
  • Jeera Powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder – a pinch
  • Salt – as per taste

Method (Step-by-Step)

  1. Prep the vegetables:
Thinly slice the cucumber and grate the carrot. Keep them aside in a mixing bowl.
  1. Prepare light tempering (for weight loss):
Heat ½ tsp oil in a small pan over low to medium heat.
Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, urad dal, and broken dry red chilli.
Let them crackle and turn lightly golden.
  1. Lightly cook the carrots:
Add grated carrots to the pan and sauté for 3–4 minutes until they soften slightly and release moisture.
Add a pinch of salt to help the carrots cook faster.
  1. Combine vegetables:
Transfer the warm carrot mixture into the bowl with sliced cucumber. Mix gently.
  1. Add yogurt:
Add 80–100 g curd or Greek yogurt and mix well.
(Greek yogurt increases protein while remaining detox-friendly.)
  1. Season the salad:
Add jeera powder, red chilli powder, and adjust salt as needed.
  1. Serve fresh:
Eat immediately for maximum crunch or refrigerate for 10–15 minutes for a cooling detox effect.
